Music is at the very heart of everything we do at Riverside Primary School. Our vision is built on our belief that music learning works best when young people are making and participating in music. Their existing passion for music is reflected and built-upon in the classroom. Our goal is to help our children to be able to access music as often as possible in school beyond the music lesson and encourage them to embrace it as often as possible. This is achieved through the Charanga scheme of work, which is fun, engaging and varied.
Music is the fabric within the very centre of the heart and soul of our school. If music be the food of love, then there would nobody left hungry here at Riverside Primary School.
Music plays a vital part in the collective wellbeing of everyone here and remains a fundamental part of supporting our school vision of being kind, safe and great learners.
We are immensely proud of three awards for outstanding arts in a primary school. Music was one of the defining factors that lead to those cherished successes. Not only this, but who else can say they have serenaded the future king of England with Shakespeare’s love sonnet 18.
