School Meals
We use a 3 week rolling menu for school lunches, with a hot or cold meal option for each day. Click here to download your own copy of the menu for each week.
All children in F2, Year 1 or Year 2 are entitled to a Universal Infant Free School Meal (UIFSM) everyday.
For children in F1 (Acorns) who have a school dinner and those in KS2 (Years 3-6), a school meal costs £2.60 a day unless your child is eligible for free school meals.
Payment for meals must be made on Arbor in advance. You can do this by topping up your account via the Parent Portal Arbor app or the Arbor website. If you are unable to pay via the app, we can now take payments over the phone with your bank card. We will not be taking cash payments for meals.
On the Arbor app, parents can choose from the menu what their child would like each day or to select a regular option for each 3 week menu.
Free School Meals
If you are receiving certain benefits, a FREE tasty and nutritious school meal is available for your children at Riverside Primary BUT YOU MUST APPLY!
Even if you do not think you are eligible at the moment, we still encourage you to complete the online form as it will pick up any changes in your circumstances automatically throughout your time at Riverside.
Look at the benefits:
A free school meal for your child, which is good for their health and could help their learning.
Savings for you, worth over £350 a year.
Extra money for the school through Pupil Premium, worth approximately £1,320 a year. This could mean more than £9,000 in extra resources for your child whilst they are at Riverside.
** IMPORTANT **
If your circumstances have changed and you think you may now be eligible for Free School Meals, please click on the link below and let the school office know the outcome.
Do you qualify?
Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:
Income Support
income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
income-related Employment and Support Allowance
support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.
If you don’t want your child to have a free school meal they can continue as normal – as long as you qualify, and are registered, the school still gets the extra money.
